O.P. Sharma a veteran journalist, has numerous articles and special interviews published in various reputed newspapers and
magazines in and outside Jammu and Kashmir State. Born to Shri. Hira Lal Sharma and Tara Devi on February 26, 1939 at Jammu,
the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir State, he got his education in Government schools. His parents had dreamed of their son
being highly educated and put in all efforts and blessings.After Graduating from Government Gandhi Memorial Science College,
Jammu in 1961 with Physics and Mathematics, had a stint of Government service. Meanwhile he fell in for literary and journalistic work.
In 1963-64, he qualified Diploma in Journalism from Punjab University, Chandigarh becoming first or second to have undergone this
professional one year course in Journalism. Without having History at the Graduation level, young Sharma did complete M.A. in History
during 1964-66 from University of Jammu and Kashmir. He was earning while learning.
